St. Jude 10-Box Break: RECAP

The last couple of nights were pretty darned fun, if you ask me. If you missed it and would rather not sit through about 6 hours worth of video, here’s a basic recap of what happened.

THE BOXES
We were due 10 boxes, received 11 and busted 12. Blowout cards tossed in (possibly by accident) an extra box and I decided to throw in a jumbo box of Topps 13S2 as a thank you to all you amazing, generous wax crackers that joined in and helped me give to a great cause.

2005 Topps Rookie Cup Baseball, 2004 Bowman Chrome, 2005 Topps Retired Baseball (not pictured), 1997 Topps Finest Baseball Series One, 1993 Bowman, 2005 Bowman First Edition, 2007 Topps Heritage, 2001 Topps Reserve, 2001 Topps Gold Label, 2001 Topps Chrome Series 2, 2005 Topps Series 1 and 2013 Topps Series 2.

THE HITS
Due to the nature of this particular break, there was absolutely no guarantee that we’d get any hits at all. Thankfully, we got a good handful of ’em! There was a dud or two, but the best was saved for last–an absolute MONSTER hit was pulled out of the very last pack from the extra box of Topps 13S2!

A sweet Pujols “Late Edition” foilboard rookie card and an amazing Mike Trout auto round out the hits from this break. The redemption cards are a bit disappointing, but there’s a small chance that Topps might still do something with them.

THE DONATIONS
From all of the slots in the break, we raised $150. An additional $5 was thrown in by reader Alex O., bringing the total up to $155. I decided to throw in some extra cash to bump it up to an even $200.

Thank you so much once again to everyone that joined the break and donated to this wonderful charity. I certainly hope you had fun and will enjoy your eclectic set of cards! I hope you’ll consider throwing your name into the hat for some great prizes for the Allen & Ginter Charity Case Break coming up in August–part of one prize is from a current MLB player! You ladies and gents are all amazing and I’m very grateful to have you as followers!

P.S.
The cards are all sorted. I’ll be spending the next day or two packing and labeling them. My hope is that I will be shipping your cards out to you by Monday.

Just curious, are these mixer cases a normal thing that Blowout Cards sells or was it a limited time thing? I may be interested in something like that down the road.
