Thanks again for all of those that followed along with Trading Up For Charity, those who traded up cards with me, and those who placed bids on the final card. Huge thanks to hockeydad55374 whose winning bid of $46.00 has been, as promised, donated to The Jack Jablonski Fund.

Please keep an eye out for Trading Block #2. I’ll be taking suggestions for the next charity that we can help. Also, if anyone wants to kick off the next Block by donating a card of their own, please let me know.

Thanks again!

Thank you to everyone who bid on this great Justin Morneau card as part of our inaugural edition of Trading Up For Charity! Congratulations and huge thanks to the winning bidder, hockeydad55374!

For those who don’t know, Trading Up For Charity is a great initiative in which we take an unwanted card and continue to trade up for better cards during a given period of time. When that time period, called a Trading Block, expires, I auction off the card that’s left and ALL of the proceeds go to charity! For more information on the project, please see the “Trading Up For Charity” tab at the top of the blog.

All proceeds from this Trading Block go to The Jack Jablonski Fund #jabs.

Thank you all again for your support and participation and keep your eye out for Trading Block #2!

Hello all my lovely wax crackers! Just wanted to let you know that our auction for this insanely cool Morneau card ends tomorrow! This is no ordinary auction, however. Every single last cent from the winning bid will be donated directly to The Jack Jablonski Fund, a charity for a Minnesota high school hockey player who was paralyzed during a game late last year. That means that not only could you win this awesome card, you’d also be doing a lot of good!

A lot of things are going on today in the Crackin’ Wax/Varsity Trading Cards central command station, and wouldn’t ya know it? The Over-thinker and I threw caution to the wind and headed up nort’ for a good ol’ fashioned hootenanny of a wedding! Naturally, wedding vows are way more important than a blog, but if I had thought ahead and pre-arranged some posts, I wouldn’t be stuck in my office for hours just after unpacking the car following a long butt-cramping drive. But, as it stands, here I sit. In my office chair. Updating things in a frenzy so I can catch the last few hours of daylight with my wife.

Sorry, I’m feeling all mushy from the weekend festivities.

…and now for the super-quick and ultra-informative updates!
