I’M BACK!
And with my awesome back-ed-ness, we’re going to attempt a dry run of Live BoBuBingo yet again. This time, barring any acts of Comcast, IT WILL HAPPEN. And it will happen with this fancy schmancy blaster of ‘09 UD S1 that I finally found at a Target near me. Sure, I was naively looking for Heritage, but I couldn’t pass up the futtfuggly mustard yellow boxes glaring at me.

If you’d like to help out with the Live BoBuBingo test, and/or you just wanna see (or rather read) someone crackin’ some cheap wax, please stop back here Sunday March 1 2009 at 9pm Central (10E/8M/7P…I still haven’t figured out you other time zones yet). It will be a blast(er).

Sure, the ONE friggin’ time I actually schedule something, let alone the VERY FIRST TIME I schedule a live break, let alone my first live BoBuBingo test, my internet goes dead. And here I sit on the phone asking questions late at night to someone from another country who really doesn’t care about what kind of live “block” thing I’ve got going on right now. Here I sit on the phone with some stranger who is absolutely convinced that there is no problem. Here I am on the phone an hour and a half afterwards with a completely new stranger who is telling me “oops, our bad! *click click* All better!”

So, how did a post go up RIGHT at 9pm Central like I had promised? I scheduled it through wordpress so I didn’t need to worry about that end of it. All I needed to do was be here and launch the Coveritlive thingeemabob. Oh, I was here alright. I just didn’t make it past my modem.

So, I’d like to apologize A BAJILLION TIMES OVER for those that showed up on time and got nothing out of me. Honest to blog, I didn’t dupe you. I certainly hope you don’t think ill of me for this.

With all of this in mind, I should probably warn you that Crackin Wax will be going dark for a few days… maybe even up to a week. I’m disconnecting from my current service (not just because of what happened tonight) and I’m not sure when I’ll have new service up and running.

Again, I am HUMONGOUSLY sorry to everyone who gave up part of their night to be here and got nothing but a blank screen.

Joe Crede Moves North

Minnesota Inherits Good Bat, Bad Back

As reported just a few minutes ago on twins.com, Joe Crede is now officially a Minnesota Twin. He’ll be playing the hot corner while making $2.5M base salary with incentives that could bring his total up to $7M. The contract is for one year only.

Looks like my want list just got a little bigger.

Wuh-hey! It’s the much ballyhooed 2009 Topps S1 Target Blaster! Where were you when I was doing BoBuBingo a couple of weeks ago, you rascally rascal, you?

So, let’s see. What do we have here. The usual $19.99 pricetag. A-Fraud still on the front. That "can’t-miss-it" awesome blue cover. A guaranteed commemorative patch card? I hope this is absolutely nothing like the gamers that were plugged into the late ‘08 Topps blasters. By the looks of things that I’ve seen around online, they’re manufactured patches (or "manupatches" as I like to call them). And they don’t try to spell out silly words like FOILBURGER or THEROLLINGFUDGEDUCKET. *sigh*

So, guess what, kids? I’m actually going to NOT open this box. Right now. Anyway. Nope, I’m actually going to hold off to do my very first actual for really realz LIVE box bust right here on the blog. I’ll be using it as a basic system test for the next BoBuBingo. So, if you’d like to help out with the test, and/or you just wanna see (or rather read) someone crackin’ some cheap wax, please stop back here Sunday February 22 2009 at 9pm Central (10E/8M/7P…the rest of you other time zones are on your own).
